This Picture of The Tomb Of The Unknown Solider During The Hurricane Is Going Viral Like A Motherfucker
Pretty much as badass as a pic gets. I’ll get worried about Sandy when these soldiers decide there’s something to get worried about. Or, when the cable and internet go out. Whichever comes first. ‘Merica!
Update: The only thing more American than these soldiers is people faking shit on the internet. Guess this pic was from September. They’re still out there today…

Their not leaving.
That’s cool and all… especially when it was first published in September http://www.poynter.org/latest-news/mediawire/193449/that-photo-of-the-tomb-of-the-unknowns-guard-in-the-rain-its-from-september/
wow, i was a history major and never heard of this thing. nice work, umass. just kidding, probably my fault for skipping roughly 80% of my classes…
Fucking sheep. So stupid. Go vote for your pre-determined president you ass hats. That soldier died doing the governmen’ts dirty work, and yet it “Trends” b/c of the hurricane.. what a joke you all are.
^ I bet pappelsmear is a fucking blast to party with
Nice pic but what member of any military hasn’t paraded in bad weather? Did more than a few parades in the Canadian army with the snow falling and the wind howling. Fun stuff.
@stromrider…this isn’t a fucking parade you dicklicker…they’re out there every day, any condition, 24/7/365…ask a canadian to do that…google these guys…it’s one of the hardest units in the Army to get into…nothing but respect for these guys…
got sucked into a major wikipedia hole after this
@teds_underwear. Fuck off. If you think there aren’t people in every reasonable military in the world who can do this then you are just another jingoistic tard who thinks Americans are better at everything. They are not.
I’m right there with you ncen.
well…we are…
oh, and @stromrider..there’s a reason you’re called america’s hat…
I know the wikipedia hole all too well. Tomb of unknown soldier is awesome though i went there in 8th grade
@stromrider – Also, you ride the gayest motorcycle ever made. Go kill yourself, Canadian jerkoff. Nobody asked you.
They were there in September, they were there for Irene, and they’re there today for Sandy. Just because someone wasn’t dumb enough to go out there and take a pic today.
Respect the tradition.
@ncen: I’ve been there bro. Check out Aziz Ansari’s bit about wasting time on the internet. Funny and true.
stromrider, sure, I’ve been called a xenophobe, but the truth is I’m not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and all the other countries aren’t as good. That used to be called ‘patriotism’.
This unit is one of the oldest in the Army. When we are asleep in our beds at night, at work or at play, etc. They “STAND THE WATCH”. During exceptional weather events they mey be stooddown but normally (as stated above), they’re on watch 24/7/365. It is one of the hardest units to get into. For all internments at Arlington, they escort and render honors.
The Old Guard has a twitter?……#ironic
I know who the soldier is
teds_underwear you might want to brush up on your military history…Canadian units have been, and always will be the most internationally respected for their determination and courage. In both world wars we were saving towns in record times while the Americans were sitting on their hands. Frankly, Canadians not in the military could and would do this for our fallen heroes.
