I’d guess that the people who don’t understand why Roenick is emotional never played sports at a decent level. The guy came into the league as a Blackhawk and he’s emotionally connected to the franchise and its fan base. He’s proud for the franchise and happy for the city of Chicago. They hadn’t won it in 61 years.
