Who Was The Most Painful Guy You’ve Ever Been Forced To Watch Win A Title?
As Jerry tweeted last night the 5 guys in this discussion are pretty clear cut. Boggs, Clemens, Arod, Lebron and Peyton Manning. Let’s start with the obvious. For me Boggs and Clemens are a distant 4th and 5th. The only thing that made these so painful is that they played here forever and then went and won with the Yankees. The other 3 guys though I hated with the fire of a thousand suns. The common thread with these 3 buffoons is that they were all crowned pretty much the best player to ever play the game before they had won jack shit. I guess for me that’s the thing that creates such hatred. I’m one of those guys that thinks you should have to win to be called great not just be declared great by yourself and then have the media suck your dick 24/7 without any results to prove it.
Having said that for me the most painful title to watch was Peyton Manning. It’s just we had owned his ass for so long. Every single year it was the same thing. Colts are the best team in the NFL. Peyton Manning is unstoppable. Then like clockwork we’d beat the living hell out of him and win the superbowl. It was literally orgasmic. I probably would have traded 2 fingers to have him never win a superbowl. Lebron is a close 2nd but deep down I always knew he’d win. Same thing goes with Arod. They both stacked the odds in their favor. Both guys knew they weren’t good enough to win by themselves so they joined superteams. Whatever the case may be one thing is for certain. The world isn’t as fun to live in as it was yesterday.

Peyton is the best to ever play bro, that’s a fact. Prez is the bomb, but leave Peyton out of this. Peyton Manning is not the best who ever played. Tom Brady has him beat in stats, wins, you name it, Brady is ranked #1.

yeah he APPROVED THE TRADE…but he didn’t call up the Yanks and ask them to trade for him…and the Yanks didn’t restructure his contract…they didn’t change his existing contract at all…he played that contract out then opted out and tried free agency…Rangers continued to pay 50% of his original contract…there was no agreement about a new deal since he eventually opted out of the original one
At the time, Peyton was awful. But he seems like a half decent guy, so it wore off.

I don’t need to admit anything. It’s just common knowledge. Brady is awesome (except against the Giants and when the Patriots aren’t cheating) and Manning (both Mannings) are better. One in pure talent, the other in the ability to win the big game.
@jackofspades – you’re right, A-Rod didn’t call the yankees… he paid an agent to do that shit for him…. A-Rod was traded to the Yankees because A-Rod wanted to be on the Yankees. The Rangers had him in the trade market… they worked with A-Rod’s agent and A-Rod ended up where he wanted to go.
And Favre won the big game before he became a pariah and an insecure wannabe. Noone hated watching that unless you’re a fan of the Pats, which I guess makes sense. But you didn’t hate Favre you hated the Pack then.

by pure stats alone peyton is better than brady..brady wins in the sb department but its a team sport and brady alone did not win 3 super bowls. he had alot of help from his kicker and defense.
