Worst Loss In The History Of Mankind. Period.
In most instances when somebody says that an event was the best or worst of all time at anything they are exaggerating. But not this time. That was the biggest choke/collapse in the history of life. I mean blowing a 3 games to none lead is one thing. But to blow a 3-0 lead in Game 7 at home on top of that? That makes it bar none the worst collapse in the history of sports and civilization. So for all you diehard Bruins fans out there tonight I tip a 40 for you because tonight you died.

El Pres, 0% chance this is the worst loss period. what if this had happened next round or the finals? it was super shitty how it all transpired but as the flyers kept scoring goals throughout the game and kept going on the powerplay, i doubt too many people out there felt too confident towards the end.

This team was just so inconsistent. Not only game to game, but period to period. Last year’s Bruins team would have swept the Flyers. And considering a lot of those guys are still on the team, it’s just hard to understand what changed from last year to this year.

The more I think about it, I don’t think this is worse than the Yankees collapse. The Yankees won game 3 of that series, what, 19-8. So they were obviously in the midst of slaughtering the Red Sox. And not to mention, Rivera, supposedly the best closer ever, gave it up in games 4 and 5. So by that logic, I’d still have to say the Yankees are the biggest chokers ever. But that doesn’t take away from the anger I’m experiencing now.

True Bruins fans didn’t “die” because of this loss. A true Bruins fan who followed the Bruins all season would recognize that this team would not have won the Stanley Cup. If the offensive firepower of the Flyers was too overwhelming, are you gonna tell me they would have been able to keep up with those horses out west? Hell, the Sharks’ first fucking line probably scored as many goals as the Bruins top 12 goalscorers combined. Same with the Blackhawks. Yes, the Bruins collapsed. But how epic a collapse is it when the better team wins the series? This was a case of the Flyers losing one-goal games early and turning the tables on the weaker team. The Bruins losing Krejci and Sturm threw them out of rhythm completely, and they need to make some improvements for next season. Certainly the #2 overall pick (so help me God, let it be Taylor Hall!) will help, as well as the #17 pick in that first round, the #2 pick in the second round (from Toronto also), AND Toronto’s first round pick in 2011. Say what you want, but this team is 100% built for the future, and coming 1 goal shy of the conference semifinals is a lot more than anyone expected entering these playoffs.
